Here are some fun events happening around Moore County, NC this month:
November 3: Night Hike - Night Sounds
Discover nature by moonlight! Listen to the sounds of the night as you walk along the trail. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
November 3: African Musika (Market) & Zoe Family Festival
Come to the African Musika at SPUMC! On Friday, there will be a market with a Mukambo (second hand shops) and Saturday is full of craft booths, family activities like children's games, races. The day ends with family outside activities, a worship service, and a traditional Zimbabwe meal.
November 3: Murder Mystery Party
Please join us for our first-Ever 1920's themed MURDER MYSTERY PARTY! Enjoy drinks, heavy hors d'oeuvres by Wolcott's, music and an evening full of fun, sleuthing and surprises!
November 3: Art 5 Ways Opening Reception
Featuring art from 5 different artists. Exhibition dates: Nov 3 - Dec 15
November 5: Fall Migration with Susan Campbell
Southbound bird migration is a phenomenon that occurs each Fall. Discuss what you know about bird movement at this time of year in NC. What species do we see? Where do they come from and are they headed? We will also include a summary of our ongoing research at the park.
November 5: The Lure of Pinehurst
Pinehurst's Given Library and Tufts Archives Executive Director, Audrey Moriarty, will give a program on some of the area hotels, many of them little-known today, that existed in Pinehurst and Moore County's historic past. Find out things you never knew or dreamed about such places from back in the day as the Chalfonte, the Berkshire, the Lexington, Harvard House. You can expect to hear more about better known and older ones like the Magnolia, Holly Inn, and of course The Carolina.
November 8: Talk of the Town
We are excited to announce our new Talk of the Town series. Also known as Business Breakpoints, these quarterly morning meetings for local business owners/staff will be held at the Southern Pines Police Department. SPBA members have the chance to meet and listen to town officials talk about improvements to our vibrant Southern Pines community.
November 9: Crafty Kids Creations
Register your child (ages 7 and above) for this great crafting experience.
November 9: Gathering at Given - Celebrating Veteran Owned Businesses
Meet a panel of local veteran business owners as they explain how and why they started their business in Moore County. Learn about resources and support for other veterans wanting to build a business in the Sandhills. The program will be presented twice on November 9th.
November 10: Mid Pines Hickory Championship
The first event in the scheduling of the major events on the Championship Series, the Mid Pines Hickory Open in Southern Pines, N.C. is one of the year’s most popular outings. Played on a classic Donald Ross gem, the tournament often hosts as many as 100 players, including international visitors. On the Friday before the event, neighboring course Pine Needles hosts a foursomes competition. The Saturday evening trade show at Mid Pines is a lively affair with many exhibitor tables showing everything from clubs to books, balls and other golf collectibles. The golfing center of Pinehurst is nearby as is the Tufts Archives, a repository of Donald Ross history.
November 11: STEAM Saturday: Artbots Invade
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Saturday will be held on Sat., Nov. 11. Experiment and craft tables will be out all day. From 11:00 a.m. to noon join the Library staff for a special ArtBots event! This program is for children grades K-5.

November 25: Pinehurst's Small Business Saturday
November 25 has been designated as Small Business Saturday – a day dedicated to supporting the local small businesses that create jobs and boost the economy in Pinehurst and across the nation. Save the date and save your toes from getting trampled at the mall. Instead, shop small at one of Pinehurst’s charming downtown shops. Come spend the day shopping, dining, and exploring our beautiful village! As an added incentive to shop in the Village of Pinehurst, those who make purchases in Village Center shops on November 25 will be eligible to win a gift basket filled with items from Village of Pinehurst businesses.
November 30: Christmas Spectacular at the Fair Barn
Kick-off the Christmas season at the Fair Barn as the Home For Christmas Tour comes to town! This tour features award winning southern gospel artists, the Mark Trammell Quartet and the Whisnants as their multi-state tour makes a stop in Pinehurst! Joining these groups on this special night will be Moore County teenager, Cooper Ellington!
